I am an experienced graphic designer, with a background in project management, graphic design, and expertise in corporate communications and printing.Typical projects include the design of brochures, presentations, announcements, publications, catalogs, magazines, and special event promotions.
With over 18 years professional experience in printing and graphic design, clients rely on me for expert project management, and skillful experience in design and graphics. I have experience working freelance graphic design for companies in
San Diego as well as across the United States.
I am a member of AIGA - The Professional Association for Design, and am also a member of the local Japan Society of San DIego and Tijuana. I have a B.A. Degree in Applied arts and Science from San Diego State University. My past job titles have included: Graphic Designer, e-Commerce Database Manager, Production Artist, Prepress Production, Preflighter, and Customer Service.
I have lived in the San Diego area since I was six years old. It is a beautiful city to live in, with it's beaches, and culturally diverse communities. I am married to Andre Van Lingen. We have one son, who has been on computers since he was 3 years old... he is my little computer protege as he is becoming an expert on both Mac and PC computers at such a young age. I love gourmet cooking, wine tasting (chardonnay and zinfandel, italian blends, and malbec are my favorites), fine arts (e.g. painting, sculpture, almost anything in a museum), and theatre & music. I enjoy spending time with my close friends and immediate family in San Diego. I am also a volunteer in the Awana program, working with preschool children in a Christian Youth Ministry in San Diego.
ATTITUDE
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.
The remarkable thing is we all have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
